The Akron Movement is a philosophical society formed in the 2020s based on the principle that when people are pulled out of their own group think and able to think for themselves they know best how to solve the world’s problems.
The Akron Movement maintains that American racism and classism and misogyny and homophobia and all other forms of group hate are created and instilled and propagated by the 2 party political system. They intentionally pit us against each other to maintain their power. Democrats are a rotten disease of neoliberal self-righteousness, elitism, hypocrisy, and arrogance. Republicans are a rotten disease of fascism, racism and white male dominated oppression. Together they both crush the people with stagnant wages, unaffordable healthcare, overzealous prison culture and a general disdain for common people. The 2 party system is the enemy of the people.
The Akron Movement maintains that government is a tool of the people and must therefore bend to the will of the people and not the will of the businesses.
The Akron Movement maintains that conservatives, liberals, blacks, whites, white trash, poor, hillbilly, Mexican, Cuban are all one. We ALL have more in common than we have differences. It’s not people against people. It’s people against the oppression of business. Solidarity of the people is the only path where humanity does not destroy itself through environmental disaster, nuclear holocaust or a decent into ignorance and savagery.
The Akron Movement maintains that capitalism is not innately bad but it often descends into a predetory capitalism that allows business to run wild destroying natural resources, refusing to pay a livable wage and forcing workers to toil in dangerous and hostile work conditions. Regulations must constantly be analyzed and layered on to make business fair for both the owners and the workers. Business owners are currently the most important people in America as far as politicians are concerned. There must be a leveling where workers are equally as important.
The Akron Movement maintains that if you work full time you have the right to expect to afford housing, food, healthcare and education.
The Akron Movement maintains that if you cannot work due to disability or age you hand the right to housing, food and healthcare.
No human, no matter what the reason or cause deserves to live unsheltered and starving on the streets of the richest country in the world.
