He said:
“It’s not left and right, it’s not even Republican or Democrat. There’s one line that divides us: Do you love America, or do you hate America? It’s really quite that simple,” Gorka told Newsmax on Wednesday.
That’s not what he means. What he means is: do you bend the knee to our lord, savior, and king, Donald Trump?
That’s exactly NOT what America is about. They are trying like hell to revise the American system.
Authoritarianism is rising in the world because the neo-liberal ideology of letting the global free markets run free like a venomous snake is creating increased income inequality. The cracks in the system are becoming evident for everyone to see. So instead of helping the people, governments are becoming authoritarian to shut people up so the rich can get back to making more money without all the whining of suffering human beings.
I will not fight with physical violence. I don’t need to. What the Trump dictatorship is saying is: you either sit down and shut up, or we are coming for you. I REFUSE TO SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP.
I also refuse to be afraid. I will not shrink and cower when strength and bravery are needed most. Anyone can be brave when times are good. But we must, most importantly, be brave when times are bad.
NOW IS THE TIME TO BE BRAVE!
Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen is being brave.
He met with Kilmar Ábrego García, IN EL SALVADOR, whom the administration has refused to return to the US despite an order from a federal judge, because the Trump administration officials have acknowledged that he was deported in error.
I’m not afraid. Senator Van Hollen is not afraid. We need more people to be not afraid.
I stand with Kilmar Ábrego García. I’m not saying he is good, bad, or indifferent. What I’m saying is what the judges said: Garcia has the right to due process.
One of the best parts of America is that we have always adhered to the rule of law. When there is a law, WE ALL FOLLOW IT. Communist and far-right fascist dictators ignore laws. American presidents follow laws. Donald Trump is ignoring the law.
If you really want to “love America,” you will fight for what it means to be an American.
In its judgement, the three-judge panel said: “The government is asserting a right to stash away residents of this country in foreign prisons without the semblance of due process that is the foundation of our constitutional order.”
If you don’t like a ruling, then you appeal it. You don’t ignore it.
