Looking back at the whole scene now, I don’t believe people really care about deficit spending. All they care about are jobs.
Most of the first decade of this century was in deficit. No one cared because most everybody had a job that wanted one.
Now that people don’t have jobs they are angry about everything. But its the jobs that are causing the anger.
I now think the Democrats should have been with Paul Krugman who has been advocating for significantly more stimulus all along.
Democrats could have gotten that done. They could have filled the entire hole of job shortages.
And because they didn’t they are now fighting for their political lives.
I’m not saying here if we should have actually had more stimulus or not. I still don’t know what I think about that. I’m just saying it was bad strategy for the Democrats to not demand it.
