I am what they call an inconvenient truth. Like my greatest idol and hero, fellow Akronite John Brown, I am a land-owning white European business man. This, I know, makes them twist in their very soul and raison d'etre of their core existence. But they had no problem stringing Brown up by the neck for breaking the greatest sacred law of all European white men: Standing with African people. John and I are race traitors.
If it's not bad enough I stand with African people, I also stand with addicts, poor people and criminals. I'm just bad for business.
You see, they don't kill people like me because we are violent dangers to society. Sure. That's what they say. They kill us to shut us the hell up. Putting us in prison like they did to Nelson Mandela for 27 years is almost more dangerous than having us out on the street. We become nagging reminders of a system that lives off the blood and oppression of minorities.
I have solidly landed on the moral ground of determining not to injure or murder another person in my pursuit to reverse the humanitarian crimes of stealing shelter and possessions from people who have no money and no other place to live while being forced to live torturous existences on the streets of the richest most Christian country in the world.
Look at this ordinance in the laws of my city, Akron Ohio:
A. For the purpose of this section, "shelter" shall mean a man-made enclosure, windbreak, or sunshade or a natural wind break or sunshade that is developed from the earth's contour, tree development, or vegetation.
B. No person shall:
1. Torture an animal, deprive one of necessary sustenance, unnecessarily or cruelly beat, needlessly mutilate or kill, or impound or confine an animal without supplying it during such confinement with a sufficient quantity of good wholesome food and water;
2. Impound or confine an animal without affording it, during such confinement, access to shelter from heat, cold, wind, rain, snow or excessive direct sunlight if it can reasonably be expected that the animal would otherwise become sick or in some other way suffer. This subsection does not apply to animals impounded or confined prior to slaughter;
3. Carry or convey an animal in a cruel or inhumane manner; or
4. Keep animals, other than cattle, poultry, or fowl, swine, sheep or goats, in an enclosure without wholesome exercise and change of air, or feed cows on food that produces impure or unwholesome milk. Penalty, see § 92.99
How can it be that cattle, poultry, or fowl, swine, sheep or goats have more humanitarian rights than poor human beings?
This is wrong at the most fundamental level of morality, ethics and humanity.
There is no act, words or dissent too extreme to fight this duplicitous, hateful crime against humanity in the United States of America.
If I had chosen to fight this sacrilegious holy war with guns and bombs I would be entirely justified in doing so. I just morally choose to not do so.
I choose to fight this war through Democracy.
I believe that the voting system, while certainly corrupt and exclusionary, is still functioning. Like a Ford Edsel, our voting system is a broken down, overpriced piece of shit. But it can still kind of get you to where you want to go if you try hard enough.
And through social media, we have the possibility of uniting and voting as a block like never before in the history of humanity.
Social media alone is a profound reason to avoid murder to have your voice heard. If the atrocity is bad enough and you want it bad enough, you have the tools to unite people and vote the corporate, aristocratic ruling class out of office.
But voting alone is not enough.
We must also put people on the ballot to vote for. It doesn't matter how many votes you get out if all you have to vote for is a lump of shit and a piece of shit.
We must learn how to get on the ballot and change the system from the inside.
