Money Quotes

As part of my recent money theme, here are some Money Quotes.
Of these, these were the ones that suited my current interests:

Business is the art of extracting money from another man’s pocket without resorting to violence. ~Max Amsterdam

Every day I get up and look through the Forbes list of the richest people in America. If I’m not there, I go to work. ~Robert Orben

It’s a kind of spiritual snobbery that makes people think they can be happy without money. ~Albert Camus

Money is power, freedom, a cushion, the root of all evil, the sum of blessings. ~Carl Sandburg

Money is much more exciting than anything it buys. ~Mignon McLaughlin, The Second Neurotic’s Notebook, 1966

Do not value money for any more nor any less than its worth; it is a good servant but a bad master. ~Alexandre Dumas fils, Camille, 1852

  1. So your definable goal has become money, then its time to go back to “Think and Grow Rich” and stop trying to reinvent the whole process from wannabes that followed afterwards.

In addition, the personality types you mention are best trained and explained by a company called “Management by Strengths” that does training for yourself and staff. Look into the Meyers-Briggs test to see where it all came from. Ever notice there are also four blood types…?

Way down the list you wondered how to get everything organized in writing in one place. Its called a daily planner, and the best is from a company called “My-Tyme” as it is GOAL focused, not task focused..as the Franklin training advocates (yes, it’s better than the Franklin planner…). And you can’t have anybody else fill out your planner..its what triggers your mind as you use it and fill it out! Having someone else do it is a waste of time for both parties! A Palm is a fancy toy that simply keeps track of TASKS, while a daily planner does just that…it guides you into planning how to reach goals!

    Have fun…now get busy…;!

  2. Hi.
Thank you very much for your very thoughtful, comprehensive comments. You have clearly spent some time developing these suggestions. I greatly appreciate it.

I will review “Think and Grow Rich”. However, I have daily practices I’ve developed directly from that book that help keep me on goal. It’s good to keep it in the forefront of my mind, however.

I will check out “My-Time”. They sound intriguing.

And “Management by Strengths” sounds like something that I would enjoy. Everyone here takes the Meyers-Briggs test. So it wouldn’t be a stretch to apply those findings within management.

    Thanks again.
