The Apprentice 4 Episode 3 – Something Old, Something New

Here we are at Episode 3 of Apprentice 4 – Something Old, Something New

In this week’s recap, they continue to put Marcus is a pretty dopey light. Chris puts the blame on Marcus. But Marcus was the only person who was right.

If you want to get some interesting inside information on Trump and the show, you might check out this article:

There’s some good gossip to be had.

The men feel that Marcus should have been fired. Marcus admits that he talks too much. He says he’ll tone it down.

Rebecca’s ankle is broken. Toral and Rebecca appear to have a strong relationship. Rebecca is gong to have a cast on for 5-6 weeks.

Toral believes that there is a group of women that don’t have much, if any experience. She says she would hire them for secretarial positions. This is interesting after reading the article I linked to above. Apparently Trump didn’t like the cast from last season – street smarts versus college educated people. He felt that they weren’t qualified. But Trump goes on to say that he is very influenced by a woman’s beauty. It effects his business decisions, apparently. A beautful woman is clearly very powerful. But I wonder if that’s a weakness for him.

The next scene opens up at a park on the Hudson River. It’s in front of Trump Place. “It’s important to give back to the community,” Trump says. In this episode, the teams are going to buy high-tech gadgets from BestBuy and then take them to the ederly and train them on the technology.

Randal is going to be the project manager because he took a picture of her on his cell phone and showed it to her. Rebecca, of Capital Edge, takes on the project manager… even with her broken ankle.

The seniors will fill out surveys as to who does the best job.

Marcus wants to display a Tivo even though Clay thinks its too difficult. Clay (the first known gay character in The Apprentice) is starting to get some TV time. He’s being aggressively defensive.

“Inspire”
You must inspire people in leadership. Trump says he always makes life interesting.

Rebecca appreas to be a pretty abrassive leader. She’s a dictator. Apparently it’s hurting the moral and enthusiasm of the group.

The men have some internal conflicts going on.

Home Entertainment – Tivo is the primary focus here.

The women’s expo looks to be going slower. Jennifer W. was in charge of the event planning. But the room looks baren and dry. The cake frosting was to say, “Techno Expo” but instead said, “Tethno Expo”. Carolyn pointed that out. It didn’t appear the Jennifer W. knew that. She comes off as pretty air headed.

Rebecca says she was not impressed with Jen W.’s layout. It makes you wonder why Rebecca was not more involved.

Toral is running the Hi Def TV and she is doing it poorly. She doesn’t really understand it. It’s heard that Toral is the weakest link of the group.

Jennifer Murphy is doing exercises in front of the senior men to show a heart rate monitor. Trump really wanted Jennifer Murphy on this because he felt she was extremely beautiful. That really sucks for us normal looking people.

We now go to the board room. It’s apparently right after the event.

Rebecca says Jennifer W. was the weakest link.

The women scored a 7.9.

The comments for the men were that the men were very well informed. Their score was 8.1.

Randal is entitled to exemption. It unanimous.

The men are going to a children’s hospital to give them Best Buy products as a charity offer.

Jen W. is mad, crying and totally upset because Rebecca called her out on doing a poor job. I feel that Rebecca should have held off on declaring Jen W. was the weakest link. It might have been impossible because Trump was really insistant. But Rebecca could have said she hadn’t decided who was the weakest link. Now Jen W. has an entire day to strategize and prepare for a fight in the board room. It would have been a lot easier on Rebecca if she could have announced that on the day of the board room. I will say that it doesn’t look good for Jen W. She was in charge of the room layout. However, she probably should have had better guidance from Rebecca.

Rebecca was very smart, I feel, by becoming project manager right after braking her ankle. It gives her a little extra sympathy.

The men go to the children’s hospital and are well received by the kids.

Back at Capital Edge. Jen W discusses her feelings with Rebecca. Jen W tells Rebecca that she should take in Toral.

Toral is the only person to stand up for Rebecca. Toral’s technology station was not well run. She was clearly weak in this event.

The women had no signs, poor food… it was just a boring event.

Rebecca brings back Jennifer M. and Jennifer W. Trump loves Jennifer M. Rebecca is severely jeopordizing her chances. Trump likes Rebecca’s loyalty.

Toral went to The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. This is where Trump went. He says it’s the best business school in the country.

Rebecca deserves to loose this one. Blind commitment to a friend will drive your organization right into the ground. It’s terrible strategy.

Trump asks Rebecca why she brought back Jen M. Trump says Jen M. shouldn’t be there and she’s not going to get fired.

Trump says the team doesn’t like Toral and she brings down the team. George asks where Rebecca’s flexibility is. Trump says she’s inflexible and tough.

Jen W. makes a good case for why she shouldn’t be fired. Rebecca is saved because Trump beleives she has tremendous potential. That’s what saved her. Jen W. really wasn’t long for this show. But either is Rebecca. She’s bullheaded. It’s a bad trait.

Trump is clearly not sure about his decision. He says that Rebecca is either going to be great or a disaster.

Jen W. believes she is a good event planner. She’s not. Jen W. is a totally weak player. I just don’t think she was the worst player here.

  1. Jenn W is also a crybaby. Kristi’s alliance will make things rough for Rebeca and Toral. Markus has potential for pulling an “Ivanna” piggy backing on winning teams to the final four.

  2. *ack* Mike…you did NOT put the words Markus and Winning in the same sentence…did you?
Yeah…Kristi is a piece of work.
I hope she falls out of that fake accent soon, this southern girl can spot it a a mile away.
