I have become incredibly drawn to the mystical and magical forces of the universes these days.
The incredible flatness of our universe, quantum wave theory, whether or not we are living in a simulation. These ideas, and so many others, fill my mind with endless exciting possibilities.
Then throw in ideas of God and reincarnation and wondering why the hell we are here and I just can’t take it anymore. It’s all too amazing.
But then on the other side of the coin, we have the reality of our day-to-day existence. It’s tedious and boring and hard and cruel. Why do we continually treat each other and everything else on our planet so poorly?
It’s like whiplash for me.
I bounce from one side of the coin to the next. Back and forth. Faster and faster. Until finally I see them both simultaneously. The horror and the beauty living side by side.
And for me, the extremes become greater and greater every single day.
Homelessness on the scale and cruelty existing in the richest most Christian country in the world is a truth that decimates my soul. All while my understanding of our universe and it’s amazingness become more and more clear to me. How does a universe this perfect in size and weight manifest itself out of nothing without an intelligent design? How do we manage to live in something so incredible and yet behave so terribly?
Why?
Why any of it?
I believe Why = X.
“X” can be anything and everything.
The human mind is simply too constrained and too small to possibly begin to understand it all in any meaningful way.
If you can imagine it then it is one of the infinite answers to “Why.”
Purpose, no purpose. Meaning, no meaning. Designed, not designed. It’s all true. It all exists.
You know what I’m talking about here. I’m not telling you anything new that you don’t understand in your core.
Maybe I’m saying it in a way that is different than ways you have heard or thought before. But the ideas are baked into us. You know what I am saying is the truth. You’ve felt it and believed it your whole life.
I wrote the book because of you.
Individual people are the most incredible force I have ever experienced or could possibly imagine in my entire life.
Every single time I witness suffering on a level greater and more terrible than I thought was even possible… there you are to pick up the pieces. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
For every terrible tragedy I’ve seen, you have been there to show me love and compassion equally as powerful.
It’s all so unbelievable. Horror and beauty. Horror and beauty. Spinning like a coin on a table.
You are the beauty of the world. You may be the most beautiful thing in the universe. I don’t know for certain. But it wouldn’t surprise me in the least.
I wrote the book for you. As you stand with me helping people in the most awe-inspiring ways, your question is always the same: What more can I do?
I can’t even take it. I see you giving everything and then you ask me: I want to do more. What more can I do?
It’s your number one question. You ask me that question more than any other question. What more can I do?
This book will show you what more you can do.
I have tried to compile as many ways you could possibly help our homeless neighbors as I could think of. And I’ve also discussed ways it all could go terribly wrong. Not having the right expectations often can lead to some difficult experiences.
This book is raw and down and dirty. I lay it all out for you.
I hope you find it interesting and insightful. I’ve seen some crazy things helping homeless people. I talk about as many as I could think of.
