City of Akron Official Knows About My Tents

I want to document this process. This is the first document that says the city of Akron is aware of the two tents I currently have on the land owned by the Houseless Movement.

I have a friend who truly hates me and hates homeless people. He has been reporting the two tents on my land to the city of Akron. He just got a response, which is the attached image below.

I want to be very clear about what I’m doing here. I am occupying my own land. It is a human rights crime to not allow human beings to have shelter if they can’t find somewhere to go.

American homelessness is the great humanitarian crime of our time.

As much as I am sheltering 2 chronically homeless men because they need it, I am also protesting the cruel and unusual punishment of forcing American citizens to not have a legal place to shelter. Tent sweeps and no sleeping laws are a direct violation of the 8th Amendment.

I am not backing down.

This is what the space currently looks like today:

The Houseless Movement has 1 house, 1 tiny house and 2 tents. That is the size it is going to stay for the foreseeable future. No more tents are allowed on the land.
