Day 3 – Web site, Social Media & Paypal – The Road To Mayor

jurassic-worldIt is now 11pm on day 3.

I wrote day 1 and 2 just now because Greg gave me this idea today.

Day 1 and 2 were so interesting. I wanted to make sure I had them recorded.

This site is running on WordPress. It’s easy to find a new theme and install it for little or no money. The prevailing thought I had today was that my opponents are going to drown me in a bathtub of money. Their inside connections are incredibly powerful. I get it and understand it.

But I have things they don’t have.

I’m an Internet guy. I’ve been full time in this digital world since ’96. I’ve run digital programs for some of the largest companies in the world. I could set up a complete programmatic RTB media campaign on a DSP tomorrow morning before my first cup of tea.

I’ve got digital chops. It gives me an edge here online and I plan to fully exploit it.

It also makes a point: I don’t care how old a person is. George Miller directed possibly the most intense movie ever created (Mad Max: Fury Road) at age 70.

What I do care about is keeping up.

How are you supposed to lead a city forward if you don’t understand how to leverage the technology that will make that happen?
Innovation and tech. That’s one path to Akron’s future success. That’s who I am.

So, at any rate, today I managed to:

And then there’s my day job: I hosted my weekly marketing meetup. (I would be awesome if you wanted to come, btw. It’s free and fun. You can learn more here.)

Oh! And I went to see Jurassic World on opening night with my kid, Indy, at the Highland Theater in Akron. So awesome. Please support the Highland Theatre. Tickets are only $5. Jurassic World would be a great thing to check out there.

Today was easy compared to day 1 and 2. Digital is where I thrive.
