Day 58 – Global Village Festival of Greater Akron – On The Road To Mayor

As mayor I will definitely continue this daily storytelling of the journey as mayor.

I believe very strongly that elected office is a deep privilege that deserves a deep commitment to the whole community.

To that end I believe the mayor’s office has a responsibility of shining a light on all the great things happening in the city.

One thing I’d really like you to check out is the Global Village Festival of Greater Akron.

It’s happening: Sunday, September 13, 2015

Noon to 6 p.m., Lock 3 Park, Akron.

It is an international and ethnic diversity festival including performances, exhibitions, international cuisine, and much more.

Did I mention international cuisine??

Akron is becoming an amazing destination for a great variety of food from all over the world.

Going to festivals like this is a excellent  way of supporting your entire community while having a good time at the same time.

And if you’d like to support them in more ways than just going to the festival they need monetary and volunteer help as well.

You can learn more about that in their Facebook page:

A big initiative of mine is turning the declining population around. A declining population indicates a declining city.

We are too awesome to be in decline!

So please put this festival on your calendar.

It will be fun and will be a great way of helping your city continue to grow in amazing and cool ways.
