Doug Livingston of the Akron Beacon Journal did a very nice piece on Tom Weller here:
My ears always perk up when I read a story of a person committed to "the least of these."
The stories fill me with both happiness and sadness.
I'm happy to be reminded that there are so many people throughout history dedicated to the unloved and forgotten.
But I'm sad that we never seem to learn their lessons as a society.
How many compassionate and giving people must come and go throughout history before we say, "this is how our society should be?"
We never seem to learn the lessons taught by people like Reverend Tom Weller.
