When I started this journey my position was to give the people of Akron an alternative to the status quo. To the good-old-boy club of Akron Democrats.
But saying, “If you don’t like this then we have something else,” isn’t great. Just because it’s different doesn’t make it better.
But today I feel much more clear on what I have to offer you.
I think this was there all along. But I couldn’t clearly state it.
But today I know what I’m offering you.
Today my position is clear: We are the 99%. They are the 1%.
We are taking our city back. The people are the strength. Democracy will be reborn.
- We must end the corrupting influence of money in politics.
- We must protect the weak and poor of our community.
- We must be heard.
The difference between me and them couldn’t be more clear.
They want:
- Powerful government factions.
- Big business first.
- The voice of the rich.
I want:
- Protection of the homeless and hungry.
- Empowering the people to start businesses and be heard in the community.
- Listen to the 99% first.
No one else is offering anything similar to that.
Make me mayor and I will bring true Democracy to Akron. You will be heard.
