Day 67 – I Am Changed – On The Road To Mayor

This trip to the West has shaped me more than anything I can think of recently in my life.

I’ve been trying to find the words to describe what I’m feeling.

The word I keep coming back to is: Greatness.

The land. The monuments. The battles. Even the missile silos.

The visions and sheer size and beauty are all awesome.

This contrasts very sharply to my day to day life at home.

Sure. I work hard. But so much of it is spinning my wheels.

I don’t want to live a life of spinning on a wheel just to make the wheel spin.

This all comes at a perfect time for this mayoral election.

You will start seeing my truck once again moving through Akron.

But I likely am going to run a very different campaign from this point forward.

Signs. Robocalls. Debates with other candidates. It’s all so self serving.

And really, that’s all politics is for most politicians. A job with power.

There is no talk of the people of Akron.

There is no talk of the homeless and hungry.

There’s no talk of abandon houses.

There’s no talk of potholes.

As a candidate for mayor I’m not going to just talk about these issues. I’m going to do something about them.

I might as well be useful to the community while I run for mayor.

Stay tuned.

This is awesome. Can you imagine a candidate using campaign money to fix a stretch of roads whose potholes need fixed? Who snow blows the entire block he lives on so his neighbors don’t have to? Who sets up a program of volunteerism for local teens at a soup kitchen (not just serving one day at a soup kitchen for a photo-op)? You are that candidate!

    1. This is exactly what I’m thinking.

I’ve been reading up on the process of civil disobedience. There are a TON of bizarre laws on the books that don’t let you do things like this.

This is where this campaign should get really interesting and fun. Please keep these ideas coming. I LOVE them!

  2. I’m surprised he didn’t just take it away from her and kill her. ALTHOUGH I AM A PROPONENT of Conceal Carry Reciprocity in all 50 States, I do blieeve the risk must be measured when to use it. I personally would have aimed at his head and not out the car door.
